Salix Amplexicaulis Bori Pescara
This is a beautiful willow with dark purple rods. Very ornamental and would look great as a hedge. Can be a little branchy to start with but this seems to improve each year. Holds its leaves longer than other willows. Coppicing annually in winter by cutting all growth back to the original cutting will result in more rods growing the following season.
10 x 12" cuttings ready to plant between now and March.
How to plant
Plant 10" into the ground with just 2" of the cutting above soil. Willows do not like competition from weeds and other plants. Plant through a weed suppressing membrane to give your cuttings the best chance of rooting and thriving. If you're planning on using your willow for weaving, space your cuttings at approx 12" apart.
